Youth Fishing Derby - A Success!

The Harford County Recreation and Parks services held a Youth Fishing Derby today, May 27, 2017 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Friends Park 35 E. Jarrettsville Rd., Forest Hill, MD 21050 which had great turnout with approximately 50 participants. Many bass, blue gill and crappie were caught. The largest fish of the tournament was a 29" carp.
Several of our club members volunteered at the event to help introduces young anglers to the fundamentals, help with casting, tie knots, unhook & measure fish, etc. A foundation of our club is that our members take an active role in promoting our sport and reaching out to assist with community events.

Craig, I truly appreciate
Craig, I truly appreciate that you, Bob Standiford and Max Marchant joined in supporting the Harford County Rec and Parks Youth Fishing Derby. It was a pleasure for us to help the children to enjoy a morning of fishing. Spending time with their parents, and having an outdoor adventure are the things that children will have as happy memories for a very long time. It is an absolute joy to assist with this type of program.
Thanks Walt! Max, and Craig!
Thanks Walt! Max, and Craig! Also thanks Matt for letting us help to assist you! I was happy to help! Just to see the happiness on the children's as well as the parents faces makes it all worthwhile! Anyone who hasn't participated in one of these events I encourage them to do so!
