I'm sure that any of you who uses crankbaits has occasionally broken a bill. Last year, I broke a bill on a crankbait that was hand-painted by a very talented friend of mine. That crankbait has been sitting on my office desk, missing a big piece of the bill, for nearly a year. As you may have guessed, I stumbled onto a great way to complete a repair. There is a product, which you may have seen on an infomercial. It is called Lazer-Bond. This is a UV cured clear Polymer. The liquid that is extruded from the product tube is then hardened using a UV light, at the other end of the product. It hardens within seconds, allowing the user to apply layers to build the size and shape required. The attached image is the crankbait that I repaired. After a 10 minute effort, plus a little time to touch up with a nail file, my crankbait/piece-of-art was ready to use again. Nearly 1/4 of the bill was rebuilt. Note: The repair is hazy due to the filing. When wet, it is pretty clear.
