A light rain during check-in evolved into a hot sunny Saturday for our third tournament of 2018. Twenty three teams competed on 8/4/18. Loch Raven reservoir provided a lot of big bass and one record setting bag. Congratulations to the tourney champions, Craig Gordon and Holden Wolfe on a record setting 5-fish limit weighing 22.92 Lbs. That is a 4.584 pound average weight per fish, which is an all-time record average weight for any limit of 5 fish or more. In second place was the team of Rubin Holbrook and David Holbrook with a fantastic 19.96 pound 5-fish bag. Third place was won by the team of Waino Anderson and Ron Wolfe with another great 5 fish limit that weighed 18.88 Lbs. The monstrous tournament lunker largemouth, weighing 6.20 Lbs., was caught by the team of Mike Atwood and Chris Lang. This is just .02 pound under the Loch Raven all-time Metro tournament record, caught in 2007. There were no smallmouth bass caught. Congratulations to all of the winners. Thanks to all of our teams for excellent fish care. Eighty one fish were weighed in and Eighty of those fish were returned to the reservoir alive. Very good fish care! Thanks to Holden Wolfe, Bobby Standiford, Matt Elliott, Max Marchant, and Ron Wolfe for all of the help in tourney preparations, check-in and weigh-in. An additional thanks to our sponsor Anglers Express. We truly appreciate the support!
