Ron Broadwater "hangs up his cleats" in style!!

Our friend and competitor Ron Broadwater has announced that the 2016 season is his last season of tournament angling. Ron is, by all measures, one of the finest anglers anyone could hope to meet. Ron has, for several decades, amassed a winning record that is unmatched by any angler that I can name. Closing the 2016 season with a victory at Loch Raven, Ron and his partner of 12 years Rob Bertazon, also claimed the Angler of the year title. This is their 4th year in a row claiming that most difficult AOY championship. I will leave it to Ron's partner Rob to make an appropriate tribute to Ron. I will simply close by saying that it has been a pleasure competing with Ron. He is a brilliant angler and, more importantly, a true gentleman and a fine person.

Ron Broadwater, truly a class
Ron Broadwater, truly a class act as well as a great fisherman!!! I first started fishing tournaments in 1982 and when I finally earned my first top 3 finish (2nd place) at Loch Raven, Ron was the first one to come up and congratulate Brian and I on our success. He said " I am so proud of you guy's,you worked very hard and deserved it." I have never forgotten that and it made me feel welcome on the " tournament trail." I have made it a point to make everyone feel welcome the morning of the tournaments and congratulate them on their success as well. Thank you Ron for that!!!! Good luck luck in your future endeavors as well!!!!
