We have some very big things coming next season. The first is a change to Pay-As-You-Go for tournament fees. While we have always allowed our members to register for as many or as few tournaments as they desire, payment for all regular season tournaments was required in advance of the tournament season. Next year, our members will be able to register and pay for each tournament 10 days in advance of each tournament. This policy change, along with other improvements, will pave the way for the growth of our membership.
More important improvements are coming!
Our friend and competitor Ron Broadwater has announced that the 2016 season is his last season of tournament angling. Ron is, by all measures, one of the finest anglers anyone could hope to meet. Ron has, for several decades, amassed a winning record that is unmatched by any angler that I can name. Closing the 2016 season with a victory at Loch Raven, Ron and his partner of 12 years Rob Bertazon, also claimed the Angler of the year title. This is their 4th year in a row claiming that most difficult AOY championship. I will leave it to Ron's partner Rob to make an appropriate tribute to Ron. I will simply close by saying that it has been a pleasure competing with Ron. He is a brilliant angler and, more importantly, a true gentleman and a fine person.

Congratulations to the team of Rob Bertazon and Ron Broadwater. Rob and Ron claimed the first place prize with a 23.24 Lb. limit of Loch Raven bass. The team of Gangi and Kosdemba took home second place honors with a catch weighing 22.75 Lbs. The team of Ian Walker and Larry Bertholdt finished strong with 21.53 Lbs, to take third place. The 5.62 Lb. lunker largemouth was brought to the scales by the team of Tommy Kobus and Russel Brown. Ron Wolfe and Waino Anderson weighed the 2.15 Lb. lunker smallmouth. Congratulations to Ron, Rob, Don, Gary, Ian, Larry, Tommy, Russel, Waino and Ron.
My deepest appreciation goes to my fellow members of the board who have worked hard to make this season possible. Chad Wisner, Holden Wolfe, and Bobby Standiford, thank you all for everything you have done. You are the best!
A special thanks goes out to Craig Gordon for all of the excellent work he does with our Web site.
Our final Weekday Warrior tournament of 2016 featured a last minute push by the team of Chad Wisner and Mark Onheiser. With 20 minutes remaining in the tournament Chad and Mark upgraded their bag by an estimated 12 pounds to claim victory. Their 20.36 Lb 8-fish limit included the tournament lunker 4.14 Lb Largemouth. Second place honors went to the team of Don Kosdemba and Gary Ghangi. Don and Gary's 6 fish bag weighed a very respectable 16.00 Lbs. Congratulations to Chad, Mark, Don, and Gary. Thanks to all who participated. A special thanks to our tournament sponsor, Anglers Express, for providing a gift card for the tournament lunker and a gift card to the last place team. It pays to compete!
Our final Weekday Warrior Open Tournament of 2016 will be Wednesday 9/21/16 at Prettyboy.
