It is that time of year again, the water is warming and the bass are beginning to move up. Some anglers don't fish for bedding fish, which is great. They will fish out deeper for prespawn fish. I do find it hard to resist when I see that big bass on a bed. Some things I do to give that fish a chance is put a time limit when bed fishing. 5 minutes per bed , if you don't catch it,the fish wins. Fish every other bed. And when you do catch that big bass, Do not fish for it again during the spawn. It only counts as one fish. It might sound great when you tell your buddies "I caught 2- 5 lb. bass " three straight weekends. But you will wear that ONE fish out. Enjoy this special time of the year. Good luck.

Wonderful topic Bobby...
Wonderful topic Bobby... heres what "i do"... I just go fishing.. casting to targets.. like brush... trees, points etc...if the fish bites ...it bites ... I don't intentionally pester or try to provoke a fish that "I see" to bite, or a fish I "see on a bed" to strike...but i do fish likely spawning areas... many fish spawn deeper then a fisherman can see.. I dont spend my time "sight-seeing" for fish on beds...
