Heads Up at Liberty Ramps
I went out fishing for a few hours this past Wednesday at Liberty. I launched at ramp 2. Came back to the ramp at the end of the day and made my way up to my truck to discover that my passenger side window was smashed out! I opened the truck and found a rock laying in my driver seat and of course tons of shattered glass. The crooks got my wallet and my Buddie's wallet. I had a lot of other valuables that they didn't touch.
So....Wednesday evening I spent a few hours on the phone canceling all my credit cards etc....
I took my truck Thursday morning to Lee's Automotive to have a new window installed. The guy at the counter said that he just did the same exact repair for a "fisherman" the previous week. This guy ALSO was parked at the ramp and actually was coming into the ramp area when he saw the thieves bust out his window,,,,took all his stuff and rolled out.
I'm trying to get in contact with the other fisherman to get more info, as far as how many thieves and what they were driving...
I did call 911.....they said there wasn't much they could do. I have not contacted the watershed police or any other authorities yet.
Just wanted to put this out there to the readers of the site.....maybe somebody else has some info?

Ralph,
Ralph,
I am really sorry to hear that news. If you get any additional information, please let us know. At the same time, thanks for sharing your experience with us. Hopefully we can keep our eyes open and catch this criminal.
It's terrible to have this happen but hopefully this will serve to remind others not to leave important things in their vehicles when they go out fishing.
After hearing some stories a couple years back about some trailers being stolen at the ramps, I now lock my trailer before I leave to go fish.

Ralph.. Definately contact
Ralph.. Definately contact the Watershed Police.. i forgot to lock my truck at the ramp in september and they stole my GPS...and a few other valuables. the police wanted the serial # from the GPS which i gave them..The watershed police have a guy who is working on this right now every day!!!! He will want lots of information...they told me it is now a weekly occurence. they told me they arrested someone last fall for the same thing, so they will definately investigate. They will want information about any usage of the credit card and the time it was used. It will help to get them the information.. ASAP...
Hi David.......I did contact
Hi David.......I did contact Officer Phillips from the Environmental Police. He took a full report from both me and my buddy who was fishing with me that day. Phillips said he has a possible lead on who it could be. He did say that one of the leads is still in the detention center.
My buddy's ATM card was used at the Shell station in Eldersburg to buy gas, then it was used at a red box to purchase a movie. I discovered the break -in at 4:15 pm, the ATM card was used at 3:37 pm. We got in the water late,,,,,like 1:15. So this happened fast and in a very short time frame.
I fish 4 times per week,,,,,,,been on pins -n- needles coming back to my truck each day since it happened. I leave the ROCK on my dash as a reminder to the pricks who broke in.....
Yesterday (12/28) things took
Yesterday (12/28) things took a new twist in that intead of breaking into the vehicles, somebody decided to siphon the gas out of vehicles. At least two cars/trucks lost gas sometime during the day including my fishing buddy who lost a full tank of gas out of his pickup truck.

Nice Job Ralph.
Nice Job Ralph.
I hope they catch him with enough evidence to put him away for a while.
Nice... RALPH!!! hope they
Nice... RALPH!!! hope they can charge him with some of this and it will end..I personally am not relaxed anymore while out fishing and wondering whats happening to my truck at the ramp.. It would be nice if they closed the ramp area to people "without" permits... but I dont think that will ever happen...
I feel the same way David...
I feel the same way David....have since spoken to DNR Officers and Officer Phillips again. Phillips has paid the crook a visit. Right now we must keep our eyes open and try to get a law officer at the ramp while this is taking place.......which will be difficult.
Its a light silver maybe light blue little foreign car type.....front bumper and air dam are hanging down and pushed forward...a real piece of shit!!
No front tag........rear tag # I have.......you can reach me at ralph@ralphdavisreptiles.com if any of you want it.
