so safe to assume you have 998csi. What are the "pretty cool" features?
Go Fish Yourself! <'')))>< ...Respectfully.
Casting rings. So you can put specific diameters around waypoints, countdown timer, useful in tournaments, side image auto range. So you maintain contact with bottom. Removable readouts for 800-900 series ,so you can see uncluttered view of left side of screen. + there is auto scramble so if there are any boats within 1500 ft. Their electronics are useless . Only kidding about that one .
Bob, Have you pre-ordered the Humminbird 360 for your 998 yet? It was just a matter of time before Humminbird engineered a way to Spin the SI Transducer to give a 360 degree view. A great add-on to your 998, and for only $1,999. Available in August 2012. If you haven't seen it yet, it's worth a look! (Who says great fisherment are made through time on the water?)

Hi Walt . I have checked out the 360 ,it looks pretty hi tech, however sometimes I forget to pick up my trolling motor when beaching my boat. So that could be a expensive mistake. I will look to see if it has a auto retract for shallow water.
I have a humminbird 898c si combo i can't get my water temp on my screen and my time is a hour off can anyone please help. Thanks Mike
mike
I have a 998 but im sure its the same so go to menu and find setup and hit select read outs and you will find it.The time is also in setup just scroll down intill you see localtime zone and turn daylight savings time on.
Hi mike. This depth finder thing is new to me as well. The time issue has to be set to daylight saving time off. To do this press menu twice then press rt arrow key to set up, then scroll down to daylight saving time. Use rt arrow key to turn off . To get water temp on screen. Press menu twice press rt arrow to set up then scroll down to select readouts then press rt arrow key to whatever readout you want it to appear then use rt or left arrow key to read temp. I hope this helps, let me know. Thanks.
Got it working .Went to liberty yesterday and saw some neat stuff still learning this system but WOW the stuff under the water is incredible. So was the storm we got caught in. Thanks again Mike
