The Big " Hook-Up"

This tip hopefully will help with fish mortality . When taking someone who has little or no experience with plastic worm fishing ,try upsizing their worm hook 1 size larger than you typically use. I find when I do this there are less swallowed hooks due to the angler not detecting the bite early enough. I use this with 4" worms  1/0 and give them 2/0.  7" worms I use 3/0 and give them 4/0. This might result in less bites on somedays for them, but on days when the fish are really feeding you will spend less time with gut- hooked fish. Again we are trying to protect the resource.
